Peter Lynn C-Quad 2.2m

The first thing you notice about this kite is it size. It is hard to believe that it has a 2.2 projected area when it is un coiled from it bag. You want to get a look at the 8.5. This kite is immense. If in buying a kite one of your main objectives is to get the biggest looking kite you can afford there can not be many kites more

impressive in terms of scale than the bigger c-quads.

This kite was flown on a c-quad bar and was very respectable in terns of pull. Like the NASA wings it has no real upward lift just lots of pull when dropped into the window. They are fairly twitchy kites to fly, very responsive. Even the bigger ones turn very quickly. It takes a while to master this kite and get the very best from it but when you master it takes, some beating in the buggy. What made me sell this kite was the fact that it was to twitchy and also it is impossible to re-launch especially if it landed bridle side down. It would just slide along the ground unable to catch the wind due to the weight of the spar, a bit like trying to launch a Super ten or Pro team 8 after you have crashed it. Some people are put of by the spar on the Leading Edge, worried that it may brake. It is possible to break but is very strong. You are more likely to break the spar packing the kite away than in flight. Packing a c-quad is an art. As a newbie you watch in awe as the expert c-quad owner does an octopus impersonation the fits their massive kite into a small circular yellow bag. You think, how hard can it be so you go out and buy one. Time comes to pack the kite up after a good days flying. Now what did that person do. After half an hour you give up and cram the kite in the back of the car and try and sort it out at home. Once mastered it is easy but care does need to be take not to fracture the spar.

Would I buy another one. Probably not. I found not being able to re-launch a real pain. These kites do have a significant amount of pull. I would say that the 2.2 quad pulls about the same as a 3m Firebee. It is far more impressive and elegant in the air than the Bee however and very fast through the turns.
